So the new hospital is amazing. We stopped at my doctor first for something for my silly sinuses and Craig got some blood work done.
We checked into the "admissions" area and then we were promptly escorted back to this room.
We both assumed he was there for vitals and then we would be moving to the infusion center (the only thing we knew) I even told Craig not to sit on the bed so they would not have to change the linens for the next person.
ha ha.
No the PRIVATE room was for Craig! We had our own private room with private bathroom. It was really nice. We were both giggling when the nurse told us it was where he would be getting treatment.
It got even better. While we waited for blood work the nurse handed Craig a menu and explained that lunch is included in his treatment and to order whatever he wants and it will be delivered to the room.
We even joked before we saw the menu about hospital food and we were "guessing" it would be lamb chops, with grilled asparagus and potatoes au gratin. Totally not even being serious and we were not that far off.
Craig was not hungry but I am not one to pass up free food and the nurses raved about how good it always looks so I ordered a pizza and fries. It was pretty good. VERY surprised for hospital food. It was even made to order so I got to pick all my own toppings!
It was top notch all the way. We were both very impressed with EVERYTHING! It was so relaxing to have our own room, our own bathroom, our own TV, free WiFI.
Oh and we had a "mini bar" too! I know REALLY? Yep it had soda, milk, sandwiches, coffee, hot chocolate, jello, apple sauce, crackers and lots of other little goodies!
It took almost 6 hours which is about normal but the time seemed to really fly by quickly!
And I am needing to work on my bedside manner. I was trying to move the tray out of the way so Craig could go to the restroom and I managed to knock my hot chocolate and water ALL OVER Craig's lap.
So another treatment in the books. It was so relaxing I asked if I could climb into bed a take a nap with him and he would not let me : ( Maybe I can wear him down.
Craig came home to nap but is still feeling pretty good!
I almost feel like I can exhale now. Its seems strange that I keep saying everything happens for a reason but knowing the care he is receiving at St Lukes really puts my heart at ease. It was beyond over the top amazing!

That's awesome that they make the experience so inviting. It's chemo but you are there for so long it's nice to have those little perks.
